cookies for babies (without sugar) – Babykekse ohne Zucker

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Store bought cookies tend to be too sweet. Babies don’t need all that suger and will happily chew and nibble on less sweet cookies – saving their small teeth from getting cavities at an early age.
If you like these to be a liitle sweeter add a small amont of applesauce to the top of the cookies before baking them. These are very simple to make and are suitable for babys from 7 months and older.
Happy birthday Berit!

Makes 2 baking sheets

80 g    softened butter
1    large very ripe banana
220 g    flour, type 1050 or any you like

optional:  applesauce to coat before baking

If your butter is not soft enough, soften it a bit. I did this in a bowl in the oven on very low heat.
Peel the banana and puree it with a fork.

Mix flour, soft butter and pureed banana to make a uniform dough, do not overmix it. Rest it wrapped in foil for at least 15 minutes in the fridge to make it easier to roll out.
Preheat the oven to 175°C, cover 2 baking sheets with baking paper.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to approximately 1/4 “ thickness and cut out shapes as desired. Set cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 12 to 14 minutes until very lightly browned, watch for burning. If desired the cookies can be covered with a small amount of applesauce before baking, to make them a bit sweeter.
